Stealing from Mom

More and more I realize that I am turning into my Mom.
Not only do I notice myself picking up more of her mannerisms daily, our styles are becoming one.
(I like to think she is copying me, but who really knows!)

My Mom and Dad were in New York last week meaning I had full access to her closet... unsupervised!
I obviously went straight to her handbag collection, and decided to steal her navy Celine Mini Luggage bag.
The bag can hold everything and it seems to match everything in my closet!

Even though my parents are home now, I'm planning on keeping this bag with me, it's just to good to give back!

Thanks Mom, and surprise, I have your bag if you're looking for it!

Blue Monday - Leather Edition

Ladies, I'm going to give you a critical piece of style advice for Fall: Invest in a piece of leather clothing!

Wearing leather in any capacity, (leather jacket, leather pants, leather skirt,) adds an edge to an outfit. 

Leather makes a statement without trying to make a statement at all...and doesn't everybody feel cooler while wearing leather?

Una Pizza + Wine

What's a better way to finish off the work week than with an amazing meal out with friends and family?!

Going to dinner is one of my absolute favorite things to do, I mean, I love eating, talking, and wine, so dinner time is the best time!

One of my favorite local Calgary restaurants is Una Pizza + Wine!

The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is tremendous! 

If you are planning to go out for dinner this weekend, I highly recommend Una Pizza + Wine! 

Just a piece of advice, be sure to get there early...tables fill up fast!!

Fall Musts

Fall is my favorite season! I love sweaters, coats, scarfs, boots, layering, and of course... pumpkin flavored anything! 

When transiting into Fall, I always invest in a few key pieces. This year, my Fall musts are: 

1) Cashmere Sweater

2) Olive colored jeans 

3) Menswear inspired coat

4) Ankle booties

Investing in a cashmere sweater is something I do every Fall. Who doesn't want to look cute and cozy?

Olive colored jeans are something I've been coveting for a while. Olive looks so nice with shades of brown, making them perfect for Fall! 

A Menswear inspired coat is the 'It' jacket of the season. Easy to throw on over anything, you really can't go wrong. 

Ankle booties are a shoe that will take you through every season! Booties look just as great with a skirt or dress as they do with jeans!

The Nonna

In Italian, the word Nonna means Grandma. 

Considering this sweater is called " The Nonna," and I'm Italian, this sweater was a must! 

Although my Nonna wouldn't have been caught dead in a sweater with holes in it, I do believe she would have loved it! 

This particular IRO sweater is soft and delicate, yet warm enough to wear on a brisk Fall day!

Considering that it is now Fall, a cranberry coloured jean is a good choice. 

It's pairs well with most shades, and adds a pop of colour to any outfit!

Although they're pattered, they are actually very easy to match a top with.

Leather and Loafers

Ladies, I'm going to let you in on a little secret: Loafers are the best shoes around!

I feel every woman should have a pair of loafers in her wardrobe. 

A loafer adds a "preppy" vibe to any outfit.

With "menswear" inspired looks being on trend right now, loafers are more masculine than a ballet flat, and pair excellent with leather! 

If you want to invest in a good, everyday shoe, a loafer is it!

The Trumpet Skirt

My go-to outfit is usually a pair of jeans with either a t-shirt, sweater, or blouse. 

Considering that we may not have many warm days left in Calgary, I've decided to change it up with a skirt. 

A skirt automatically makes an outfit look more dressy than it actually is.

Stripes and Studs

Confession: I have an obsession with Valentino Rockstud Shoes! 

You can wear the most casual outfit, like a t-shirt and jeans, throw on a pair of Valentino Rockstuds and all of a sudden you're outfit is taken up a notch! 

Valentino Rockstud heels are the comfiest heels I own. The day I got a pair I wore them to a club...silly idea, thankfully the shoes never got ruined! Plus, I didn't complain about my feet being sore, or my shoes being uncomfortable once! 

If you are looking to invest in a heel, or as I call them, "Big Girl Shoes," I highly suggest a pair of Valentino Rockstuds!

Fall Floral

A dark wash floral print pant is perfect for Fall!
Most people think a floral print is a Summer pattern, but when done in a dark wash, it screams "Fall pant!"

For Fall, brown suddenly becomes the most common color and can tend to be boring, adding a print into the mix automatically makes an outfit more exciting!
